Unions and Societies Officer: Saffron Hancock
The USO is primarily responsible for the day to day running of the clubs and societies within Castle, including financing and promoting teams and events that they put on, and running student-led events such as Castle-Hatfield Day, Give it a Go week and the College Festival of Sport. The USO is also the link between Castle and university-wide institutions, such as Team Durham, Experience Durham and the Durham Students’ Union (DSU).

Hiya!
I’m Saffron and I will be your Union and Societies Officer this year. This means I oversee all the Castle Sports and Societies as well as represent the college at the Durham Student’s Union. I am a finalist student study Geography (BSc). I am really excited to kickstart Team Castle again with some stash and work with the Music Rep, Romy Barrett, to project Castle’s music scene. I will be working closely with Maddy Cusack madeline.k.cusack@durham.ac.uk, Castle’s Sports Welfare Rep to make sure you are all supported throughout the next year!
