Senior Student

Senior Student: Fraser Desforges-MedhurstFW booklet image

The Senior Student is the head of the JCR and has three main duties – first, they lead and support the Executive Committee, the group that is responsible for the day-to-day running of all parts of the JCR. Secondly, the Senior Student represents the undergraduate body of Castle within University College to groups such as the MCR, the SCR, College Office, College Council or Durham Castle Society. Thirdly and finally, the Senior Student ensures that the views of the JCR are heard by the Durham Students’ Union and the University, as well as being the face of the JCR to those outside the Durham University community.

11202114_10153394208948622_7200574070986608193_n (1)Hello all, my name is Fraser – I’m a Finalist Geographer (BA) from London and I’m your Senior Student for this year. I’m always happy to have a chat, so please do say hello when you see me around college! My main interests beyond geography and the JCR are volunteering, cooking and architecture, as well as less erudite things like awful (yet highly entertaining) daytime television.

Please do take a look at my original manifesto – Senior Student manifesto.

If you need me for anything at all, you can reach me at f.d.medhurst@durham.ac.uk or castle.seniorstudent@durham.ac.uk, or on Facebook, and I should reply within 24 hours. I look forward to hearing from you!
