This year, Castle’s Charity Fashion Show chose to support the work done by the Friends of Kumi Hospital. As last year, the JCR chose the charity that the event was in support of, and in an overwhelming show of support, the charity that was so close to the late Eva Schumacher-Reid’s heart won by a sizeable margin. I and the rest of the Exec were both grateful and humbled by the opportunity to raise money for the charity. CCFS17 is in line to raise nearly £2,000 – this is an immense achievement to have made, considering our entire income was incredibly small. Other colleges may have larger, flashier events, but we felt that was incredibly important to keep the Charity front and centre.
This amazing achievement could only have been made possible through the efforts of many, many people; not least our generous sponsors – both of the clothing itself and through monetary support. Thank you to all of those who attended the event; the models, Exec, make-up, tech team and to the members of College Office who ensured the event ran smoothly. Here’s to an even better CCFS next year.
