Castle Community Action (CCA) President

CCA President: Christina Slater

CCA President is the head of the Castle Community Action committee which facilitates the various outreach programs for the JCR.  The President is responsible for overseeing the regular volunteering projects that Castle students run, as well as liaising with outside bodies like UNESCO and the Durham World Heritage Site team to get Castle students really integrated into the wider Durham community.

(More information can be found in the Standing Orders, W10.113a p.49)

We have four divisions which run regular projects during term time, Primary Education, Secondary Education, Homelessness and Elderly Care and Heritage Management as well as our Community Day division which runs 1 -2 one off events per term. If you think you might be interested in getting involved, or just want to find out more about the opportunities within CCA, feel free to get in touch, or look at the ‘Castle Community Action‘ tab under ‘Extracurricular’ for more information!

Hello all – I’m the CCA President this year, I’m a third year studying Physical Geography.  I’m always looking for friends to support my caffeine addiction so if you fancy a cuppa and a chat about life beyond the ‘Durham bubble’ do please get in touch.  In my time at Castle I have been involved in College Netball and College Hockey! My biggest piece of advice is to get involved in anything and everything – it’s the best way to meet new people and get involved in college life! If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch or say hello around college.
